TRUSTe is an independent organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information by promoting the use of fair information practices. 

This privacy statement covers the site www.markjoyner.name.  Because this web site wants to demonstrate its commitment to our users’ privacy, it has agreed to disclose its information practices and have its privacy practices reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe.

If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry, or if your inquiry is not satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact TRUSTe through the TRUSTe Watchdog Dispute Resolution Process (http://www.truste.org/consumers/watchdog_complaint.php ). What Information Is Collected And How Is It Used?

Information is collected from users in the following areas of this site:

1          Information is collected from members when they subscribe to receive newsletters and communications from www.markjoyner.name.

            www.markjoyner.name runs two opt-in mailing lists:
           
            • MJ’s Atomic Mind Bombs; and
            • MJ’s Occasional Coupons for Cool Stuff.

Users may subscribe to one or more of these lists.

In order to receive such communications from www.markjoyner.name, members are required to give their first name and their email address. This information is used solely to send the requested communications to subscribers.

2.         Information is collected when members send emails or contact the site administrator so that the administrator may response to that communication. The information collected will include the sender’s name and email address and is used solely for purpose of resolving the user’s complaint or query

 3.        The Discussion Community www.MarkJoyner.name hosts a Discussion Community, as well as a blog.  You must register at Simpleology.com to be able to take part in the forum, and the privacy policy which relates to the collection of personal information during registration can be read on the Simpleology.com webite here:

Members may request to be informed of new forum posts. Notifications of new posts are delivered by email to the email address provided by the member upon their Simpleology registration. An unsubscribe function is included in this communication in the event the member decides they do not wish to receive such notifications any longer. Forum members may also unsubscribe from this service by using the tools located in their community user profile.

Members should be aware that any personally identifiable information voluntarily submitted to the Discussion Community or the blog can be read, collected, or used by others, and could be used to send unsolicited messages. Construct Zero, Inc is not responsible for any personally identifiable information volunteered to this forum.

Communications From This Site

We send all new members a welcoming email upon subscription requesting them to confirm their subscription. This confirmation email provides a subscription activation link, and also opt-out and false sign-up reporting options.

Following subscription activation, members are sent confirmation receipts of which mailing list(s) they have subscribed to

Widgets

We provide users’ of the site the opportunity to share content on third party platforms. These widgets act as a platform and while they allow you to share information across sites, no personal information on the site is stored on these widgets.

“Tell-Friends” or “Email-Cartoon-to-Friend”

If a member elects to use the Tell-Friends or Email-Cartoon-to-Friend service for passing on an article or cartoon from our web site to a friend, we ask the referrer for their first name and email address, and for the friend’s email address for the purpose of sending the friend a one-time email containing a link to our web site and the article or cartoon in question. Construct Zero, Inc does not store this information for any purpose other than to send this one-time email.

How To Unsubscribe

Every newsletter sent to members has an “unsubscribe” mechanism so members who no longer wish to receive communications may opt-out by following the “unsubscribe” instructions contained in these emails.

Once a member elects to unsubscribe from our mailing list, we immediately discard their information from our database.

 Correcting/Updating Information

If a member’s email address changes, members are advised to unsubscribe from the markjoyner.name mailing list as per above, and re-subscribe with their new email address using the subscribe function located on our homepage: www.markjoyner.name.

Log Files

Like most standard web site services, we use log files. The following information is automatically logged by our web site servers upon connection: IP addresses, browser type, domain names, time and date stamp, referring URL and Landing Page, to track the viewer’s movements in the aggregate. IP addresses, etc are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser.

On the MarkJoyner.name Discussion Community, persistent cookies are used to enable functions such as showing whether or not a thread or forum you are viewing has received new posts since your last visit, or to automatically log you back in when you return to the site after being away for a while. When you register, you are provided with the option to 'Automatically login when you return to the site'. This will store your username and password in a cookie, stored on your computer. Surveys or Contests

The servers that store your information are located in a secure locked facility. W hile we make every effort to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party "hackers" from illegally obtaining this information.
